  Despite of the robbery in Beppu, I enjoyed very much my travel
  through Japan, particularly Aso area. Because of "funka" in Nakadake &
  nishi kakou, the access was strictly forbidden : so the bus didn't go
  to Aso san nishieki. Since the bus stopped at Kusasenri, I visited Aso
  kazan hakubutsukan : omoshiroi with animation & movie. Kanranken : 840

  http://www.asomuse.jp/ . I had lunch in the melodies & from the window
  I observed the smoky crater of Nakadake.

  During the afternoon I climbed to Eboshi dake (1337 m) from
  which I enjoyed a splendid view on the smoky crater & minami caldera.
  Climbing Eboshi dake from Kusasenri is very easy (1 h with return) but
  be careful with the mud : I fell in the mud but it didn't matter. To
  discover many interesting & splendid places in Aso caldera, you can

  http://www.kyusanko.co.jp/aso/ . Thanks to Quick Time you can see on a
  movie Aso's volcanic activity (kazankatsudou) and 9 panoramic views
  about Daikanbou (+ unkai), Kusasenri (+ yuki), Eboshi dake (+ natsu),
  nishi kakou, Nakadake during fuyu and Sensuikyou with tsutsuji during
  haru.

  On Sunday morning I went to Daikanbou (936 m) a very famous place
  from which you will enjoy a splendid panoramic view on kita caldera
  (fields, onshitsusaibai & shinrin) and different mountains : from east
  to west Neko dake (1433 m) Taka dake (1592 m) Nakadake (1506 m) Narao
  dake (1331) Oujou dake (1238 m) Kijima dake (1321 m) and Komezuka (954
  m). On sunday Daikanbou is very crowded with a lot of riders. You can
  have lunch here & buy souvenir. I bought a book about Aso's photos &
  delicious honey (hachimitsu).

  Osamu reserved a single room in Uchinomaki in Gokaku hotel. The
  hotelier was so nice that he offered me his private onsen. From my
  room on the 6 th floor I saw the 5 mountains. I ate delicious sushi in
  Uchinomaki. Since you are experiented riders, you certainly use
  www.mapfan.com but I'd like to recommend this site :
  http://www.its-mo.com/ with scale of 150 m !!. I hope that you will
  have a fine weather on May 1 sunday for your travel!.

  Thank you for your Mt.Aso information.
  We enjyoied Mt. Aso touring so much!
  We also visited Kanranken, and were totally impressed by the
  panoramatic view.
  Unfortunately, when we visited Mt. Aso, the weather was not as good as
  we wished, but still enjyoied the foggy view of caldera land.
  
  Our trip to Kusyu was incredible. We wish to go back there again.

  「一人が好き」
  Hi Gaku & Eri,

  I arrived without trouble to La Rochelle last wednesday evening.
  In Beppu I went up to the global tower (100 m) to enjoy a panoramic
  view. Thanks to the ropeway I climbed to Tsurumi dake (1374m) and I
  walked through sangakuchitai. When I arrived to Aso, Nakadake was in
  eruption : so it was strictly forbidden to access to nishi kakou. I
  went to Daikanbou, a famous place to enjoy a splendid view on the
  caldera. I didn't climb to the top of Ishizuchi san (1982 m) : too
  difficult & steep but I enjoyed walking through the forest.

  In Beppu someone stole my purse (saifu) in the lobby of Kamenoi
  Hotel. I went to the police station and fortunately since I had my
  credit card I went to the post office to have cash money. But it was
  very regrettable (zannen).

  「ホームシアターだ！」
  Hi Gaku & Eri,

  Last saturday I was very happy to meet you and Eri. Unfortunately
  you had to leave the touring at Jougasaki : it is a marvelous place
  with impressive cliffs. I hope that your travel to return to home was
  pleasant. Suna & I stayed 1 night in a Ryokan in Atagawa : in the
  onsen the water was very hot but I enjoyed "daiyokujou". On Sunday the
  weather became very misty & cloudy ( kasumi, donten). On sunday
  morning Moichi from Machida joined the touring and together we admired
  Iro Zaki & Matsuzaki kaigan. Around hiruma Utchie joined the touring
  and we had lunch in a mountainous area and unfortunately in the
  afernoon since Darumayama place it was impossible to see and admire
  Fuji san : we only see Numazu wan between the clouds. What about the
  jishin in Chiba ken this morning ?.

  Sorry we couldn't write back to you promptly, we were having a bit busy
  week...
  We are very happy to meet you too. The pleasure is ours.
  It was such a fun touring, and we enjoyed it so much.
  After we left Jyogasaki, we had a fine trip and returned home safely.
  It looks like you had a great time on sunday! We are very happy to know.
  Sorry about the weather. May be it means you should come back to Japan
  again to see the great view of Mt. Fuji!
